Objectives and Goals.
I will continue to be a fiscally conservative voice on the commissioner’s court.
I represent the people of Wichita County and will continue to maintain my conservative stance on budget items. I have proven that voting no in open court on certain expenditures may not always be the popular vote, but I feel that it is the right vote for the taxpayers based on my commonsense approach to spending.
I am currently working on a water infrastructure plan for county areas/residents that don’t currently have access to a public water source.
While only in the beginning stages, I am currently working with the different area water suppliers to determine a water line coverage map so that we can determine the best course of action going forward. This will be funded by a portion of the AARPA funds that we received from the federal government.
The county just recently purchased new road resurfacing equipment to better serve our designated road projects for 2022.
As a whole, the county resurfaced more roads in 2021 than in previous years. I am always looking for new ways to improve our process for repairing our existing county roadways as well as extending the life of those repairs.
I will always work hard to keep property taxes as low as we can.
With Wichita County not showing any substantial growth, we must maintain a conservative budget and work within that budget. I came into this office with a deficit due to my predecessor’s excessive spending. In 2022, I have cut the Precinct 2 budget to better align with the income produced in Precinct 2. I will also fight to increase Precinct 2’s budget percentage in 2022 based on Precinct redistricting.
I maintain complete transparency in my office and am always accessible to any Wichita County resident.
I will try to provide answers to any citizen’s question to the best of my ability.
I understand the significance that Sheppard Air Force Base plays in this community and I will work hard to keep that relationship strong.
The men and women at SAFB that serve our country, are a blessing to this county. They are your neighbors and friends and deserve our support. We must do everything possible to maintain that relationship and fight to keep SAFB open.
As a businessman, I am always looking for ways to be an advocate for new and existing businesses within our community.
Keeping people employed through these businesses is what keeps our county strong. Attracting new business to set up shop here is something we should all encourage. The prospect of new jobs is what will grow this area in the future. I am hopeful for Wichita County in the coming years.
Lastly, I continuously maintain a high standard of ethics. I will never utilize county assets for my own personal use or benefit.
I will never allow friends/family to utilize county assets for their own personal use or benefit. This should be an assumed statement but based on prior actions from others, I feel I need to make this very clear. I believe what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong.
